Laverda SFC1000 (front) ----------------------- Engine: 981 cc, 120 degree firing Year: 1986 C reg Power: About 90 BHP Speed: 140mph Mileage: 48,000Km Non-standard: Jota pipes 180 cams Bracing added to frame around headstock. Comments: From the first batch of 200 made. Another 100-200 completed in 1988 with wire wheels(!). Crude fibreglass design spoils what was the best (and quickest) production European bike. Surprisingly comfy tourer. No, honestly... Laverda Mirage TS (back) ------------------------ Engine: 1116 cc, 180 degree firing Year: 1982 Y reg Power: About 80-85 BHP Speed: 135mph Mileage: 75,000Km Non-standard: Jota pipes red frame (should be black) smoked screen (should be translucent blue!) Comments: One of the least attractive Laverdas, due to the handlebar fairing, but definitely the best buy, at around 2000-2500. Called the poor man's Jota, but a better bike. Lasted me 6 years, and 45,000 miles. "Seat like a plank with vinyl stretched over it."
